Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information CloudGrid ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. CloudGrid is operated by Cayce Dy, operating thecloudgrid.com as an individual. We aim to keep this plain and honest — we collect only what we need to run the service.
Who we are and how to reach us
thecloudgrid.com is operated by Cayce Dy as an individual. For any privacy question or request, email us at [email protected] or use our Help & Support page. We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your email address and a password when you register, or your basic Google profile (name and email) if you sign in with Google.
- Profile information — anything you add to your account profile.
- Files and content — the files and data you upload or store using the service. This is the core of the product; we treat your content as yours.
- Messages — anything you send us by email or contact form.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, and timestamps in our server logs, used for security and to keep the service running.
- Cookies — a small number of cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
- Aggregate analytics — we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that measure overall traffic. This does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you individually or across other websites and apps.
We do not knowingly collect any special categories of data (such as health, precise location, financial account numbers, or biometric data), and we do not require them to use the service.
Why we use your information
- To create and operate your account and provide the service.
- To store and serve the files and content you choose to keep with us.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To meet legal obligations that apply to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your account data and stored files, except where we are required to keep certain records for a limited period to meet legal or accounting obligations. Server logs are kept only for a short operational window.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or ad targeting. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run CloudGrid, and only as much as each one needs to do its job:
- Hosting — the provider that runs our server (currently Kamatera).
- File storage — the cloud object-storage providers that hold the files you upload (currently Backblaze B2 and Cloudflare R2).
- Authentication — Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Email delivery — the provider that sends account and support email (currently Resend).
- Legal — authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
We only use service providers that are contractually required to protect your information to at least the same standard described in this policy, to use it solely to provide services to us, and not for their own purposes. We have no parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies that receive your data. Some providers may store data in other countries; where they do, we rely on their contractual and technical safeguards to keep it protected.
Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your account information from your profile page at any time.
- Export the files you have stored by downloading them from your account.
- Delete your account and data — you can permanently delete your account yourself, at any time, directly from your profile settings within the app, without needing to contact us. Deleting your account removes your stored files and account data as described under "How long we keep it". If you can't reach the setting, email us and we will delete it for you.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent to process data, you can withdraw it at any time by changing your settings or contacting us. This won't affect processing already carried out.
- Contact us to ask any question about your data, to request a copy of it, or to request its deletion, at [email protected].
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Children
CloudGrid is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under the age required to form a binding contract in their country. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
